USCG Master's License ................................................................................$295 (Prerequisite: OUPV)

Coast Guard Approved Course for Masters to 100 Tons or Masters Upgrade (25 hours). You must have completed the OUPV Course or presently hold a current OUPV license before taking this class. This class runs three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

A USCG Masters License allows a Captain to operate USCG Inspected Vessels up to the tonnage limit as stated on the USCG License you hold. The tonnage limits are 25, 50 and 100 gross tons. Minimum requirements for a Masters License are 720 days on the water and you must be a US citizen of at least 19 years of age.

Inspected Vessels:
Inspected vessels must have a USCG Certificate of Inspection. To obtain a certificate a vessel must meet the very strict Code of Federal Regulations (CFR’s).
