ASA 101 - Learn to sail a boat of about 20 feet in length in light to moderate winds and sea conditions in familiar waters without supervision. A preparatory Standard with no auxiliary power or navigation skills required. |

ASA 103 -
In this 3-day course, you will live aboard a fully equipped sailboat and develop a 'sailing sense' of what cruising involves. You'll learn the fundamentals of coastal cruising while sailing the Texas Coast and staying in various marinas. |

ASA 104 - During this 3-day live aboard course, you will develop the skills necessary to captain your own bareboat charter. You will advance your sailing knowledge, learn to manage the on-board systems of a large yacht and develop navigation skills to safely bareboat charter in cruising grounds around the world. You will also learn to navigate using GPS. |

ASA 105 - This is a home study course. There is no sailing skills part in this standard and the practical part is found in Advanced Coastal Cruising ( ASA106). You will learn, explain and demonstrate navigational theory on charts, answer what instruments to use in navigating coastal and inland waters, how to determine the course to steer, explain terms, symbols and conventions on US charts. |

ASA 106 - After completeing this course you will be able to safely act as a skipper and crew on a sailboat 30 to 50 feet long in coastal and inland waters in any condition. You learn to: describe and predict weather, anchor in different situations, act when the engine preaks down in cases of emergencies while under power, demonstrate appropriate corrective measures for common engine problems, anchor, pick up and cast off while acting as a helmsman and / or crew, state the factors in situations that would endanger the crew, demonstrate all of the skills learned in ASA 105. |
